Old Amersham Seniors In Society (OASIS)

OASIS was launched in July ’08 and now has over 60 members.  There are several other OPAGs (Older Person Action Groups)  in the area, but as we have a high proportion of over-50’s in Old Amersham it was decided that  there was a need to have our own.  This group will give any resident over 50 yrs old the opportunity to meet together and share information and news about matters of interest .  The group is affiliated to the Old Amersham Revitalisation Group and the Bucks 50 plus Forum, which  develops and improves services for older people.  We also work with other organisations such as Primary Care Trusts, local authorities and other service providers.

We hold monthly meetings in Stevens House Lounge, Whielden Close every second Friday of the month from  2.30 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.   We always  welcome new members – even if you don’t have any specific concerns, come and hear others discuss local issues – or just come for a cup of tea and a chat.   If you have anything you want to raise, and don’t know who can help you, get in touch with us!  There will normally be a speaker giving talks on relevant topics, e.g. transport, safety,  health, beauty, chiropody, legal issues etc. (any suggestions welcome!)

Membership is £5 per year.

If you would like to come to our meetings, just turn up – or if you would like to help in any way please contact us and be part of our Group.

Meetings are held in Stevens House Lounge, Whielden Close (opp. British Legion Hall) Old Amersham, HP7 0HZ (Venue Map) 2:30 p.m. -- 4 p.m. on the second Friday of the month.
