Map of OPAGs in Buckinghamshire What is Better Government for Older People (BGOP)?Better Government for Older People was set up by the Government in 1998 to oversee 28 research projects on the engagement of older people (defined as those aged 50 and above) in a variety of services. When the initiative ended and the research projects were wound up, BGOP took into its membership 350 local member organisations to receive and share good practice. BGOP is now a thriving 'movement' of organisations working in partnership to change attitudes and services in order to achieve an improved society for older people across the UK. The BGOP Partnership is made up of BGOP's Older People 's Advisory Group (OPAG) and the broad range of organisations that subscribe to BGOP and work in alliance locally, regionally and nationally. |
